Graphic Design Assistant – Academic Year, now through mid-August 

Overview: To assist the Press, specifically the Marketing Manager and Associate Director, with various tasks relating to the graphic design of marketing, sales, promotional products, and other materials for print and digital books published by the Press. The candidate should be a student, preferably as a visual arts or graphic design major (others are welcome to apply). Graphic design experience required. Working familiarity with Photoshop and Illustrator required, Indesign preferred. The position is 10-15 hours per week, between 8 am and 5 pm, with a flexible schedule.

Duties: Any tasks as set forth below and other specific tasks, as needed and requested.

Specific ongoing (daily/weekly) responsibilities include:

1. Design of promotional materials such as flyers, online images, catalogs, posters, invitations, signage, stickers, postcards, bookmarks, and other such items

2. Design or design changes for book covers and interior pages

3. Image manipulation and management if image archives

4. Management of font and art libraries

5. Other duties as needed

Retail Sales Representative

Overview: Trinity University Press has an opening for a part-time contract sales person. Gift/bookstore retail sales experience strongly preferred (ideally as a sales rep, but not required).

Duties: Any tasks as set forth below and other specific tasks, as needed and requested. This position entails making sales calls in person and via telephone/email to a variety of retail accounts, account follow-up, and securing product orders.

In general, we do hire students to work as general office, editorial, marketing, sales, and design interns. These positions typically begin in June and continue through the next academic year. Applicants should be enrolled full-time at a San Antonio university. Preference is given to students at Trinity University. Sales Assistant (intern/student)

8.00 per hour/10-15 hours per week

Responsibilities include: Assisting the associate director and marketing manager with various tasks related to sales for print and digital books published by the Press. The student should be enrolled at Trinity University and have a earnest interest in product sales and marketing. This is an excellent opportunity to acquire hands-on, professional, direct sales experience and to participate in the planning of sales strategies.

Duties: Assistance in development of sales strategies; preparation of sales materials including print and digital collateral; preparation of promotional sales copy; research and development of target customer lists; preparing mailings to established and prospective business customers; personal phone and email follow-up with selected customers, securing product orders.
