Professional Positions

Position: Graphic Design Assistant – Academic Year, now through mid-August

Overview: To assist the Press, specifically the Marketing Manager and Associate Director, with various tasks relating to the graphic design of marketing, sales, promotional products, and other materials for print and digital books published by the Press. The candidate should be a student, preferably as a visual arts or graphic design major (others are welcome to apply). Graphic design experience required. Working familiarity with Photoshop and Illustrator required, Indesign preferred. The position is 10-15 hours per week, between 8 am and 5 pm, with a flexible schedule.

Duties: Any tasks as set forth below and other specific tasks, as needed and requested.

Specific ongoing (daily/weekly) responsibilities include:

1. Design of promotional materials such as flyers, online images, catalogs, posters, invitations, signage, stickers, postcards, bookmarks, and other such items

2. Design or design changes for book covers and interior pages

3. Image manipulation and management if image archives

4. Management of font and art libraries

5. Other duties as needed

General Student Internship Positions
In general, we do hire students to work as general office, editorial, marketing, and design interns. These positions typically begin in June and continue through the next academic year. Applicants should be enrolled full-time at a San Antonio university. Preference is given to students at Trinity University. We suggest that you apply by March 1 and include a cover letter, a statement of interest in publishing, and a resume (and online portfolio for design interns). Please send your materials to our
