Barry Lopez at Texas Association of Museums Annual Meeting
Barry Lopez, editor of Homeground: A Guide to the American Landscape and author of the forthcoming TUP book Outside, will be the keynote speaker at the Texas Association of Museums Annual Meeting -- Museums in the Winds of Change: Staying Relevant and Sustainable.
Wind is a constant to the Southwest and brings both challenges and benefits. Just as a windmill turns into the wind to harness the wind’s energy, museums must meet change with a dynamic that fosters relevance and sustainability. Steadfast as a windmill, our charge as museum professionals is to lead the development and articulate the excitement of what happens when the cultural setting and the public collide and explode with energy.
For the first time ever, Texas Association of Museums and the New Mexico Association of Museums will meet jointly for a combined Annual Meeting in Lubbock. This combined conference will be the largest gathering of museum professionals in both states, where new and seasoned NMAM and TAM members come together for informational sessions, inspirational speakers and tours of the finest museums in the area.
Open to meeting atendees only.
