Getting Lost: Discovering and Learning Without a Map
Tuesday, February 18, 2025 | Doors open at 5:30 PM, Event begins at 6:00 PM
Join Carol Folbre for a panel featuring her new book Wishbone in Trinity University’s Dicke Auditorium. It’s a compelling three-part event series exploring the transformative power of international travel, featuring Carol Folbre, author of Wishbone: An American Odyssey in Asia. This free public series brings together prominent San Antonio leaders to discuss how meaningful travel can shape personal values, cultural understanding, and self-discovery.
Drawing from Folbre’s immersive 18-month journey across Asia in the 1980s—during which she lived among Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, Christians, and Sikhs—the series challenges conventional tourism paradigms and advocates for a more mindful, spontaneous approach to experiencing different cultures when traveling today.
Featuring PBS TV Host Lark Mason and World Affairs Council CEO Armen Babajanian
Facilitated by Trinity University’s Dr. Katsuo Nishikawa
