TOM PAYTON | Director and Publisher
Tom Payton has been in the book and publishing industry for more than 30 years. Payton has served on industry boards and committees for the Publishers Association of the South, the Georgia Center for the Book, and other organizations. He has participated in or moderated discussions at an array of literary conferences, book festivals, and continuing education classes nationally. He previously worked for the University of Georgia Press, Hill Street Press, American Institute of Architects, Oxford Bookstores, and several consulting clients. He has experience in all aspects of the business including acquisitions, project development, digital content, publicity, marketing, sales, subsidiary rights, special events, contracts, manufacturing, and financial analysis. His work with Trinity primarily focuses on digital project development, books in architecture, urban planning, sustainability, literature/history of place, and Texas and southwestern regional interests, developing co-publishing partnerships, and marketing and sales. He is a recipient of the Alpha Rho Chi Medal for Leadership and a special commendation from the American Institute of Architects. In San Antonio he has written for several publications, and had worked with Texas Book Festival/San Antonio and Gemini Ink. He has served on the board for Say Sí, an advisory board for the Center for Non-Profit Support at the San Antonio Area Foundation, and he works with several other volunteer and civic organizations including the Terrell Heights Neighborhood Association. He is a native of Georgia and a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology.

SARAH NAWROCKI | Managing Editor
Sarah Nawrocki has been an editor for fifteen years. She worked at the University of North Carolina Press and at the University of Texas at San Antonio before joining Trinity University Press in 2003. Over the past two decades she has worked as a developmental editor, copyeditor, and proofreader for various trade and university presses. In 2000 her short story collection, Camping with Strangers (Boaz Publishing), won the Violet Crown Award for fiction.

STEFFANIE MORTIS | Acquisitions and Project Editor
Steffanie Mortis Stevens has worked in book sales and publishing for more than a decade and prior to that as a private teacher and writing tutor. In addition to acquiring titles focused on the human connection to the natural and built environments, animals and wildlife, restoration Steffanie Mortis Stevens has been promoted to acquisitions and project editor for the press. Mortis has worked in book sales and publishing for more than a decade and prior to that as a private teacher and writing tutor. In addition to acquiring titles focused on the the human connection to the natural and built environments, animals and wildlife, restoration ecology, sustainability, climate change, intersectional environmentalism, social equity and inclusion, and regional interests from the local (San Antonio) to the broad (Texas, the American Southwest, Mexico, and beyond), her editorial interests include amplifying underrepresented voices in nature writing and exploring the intersection of spirituality and ecology.

BRIDGET MCGREGOR | Sales Manager
Bridget has worked in sales for fifteen years, mostly in the medical device and pharmaceutical industries. She is a native of St. Louis, Missouri, and a graduate of St. Mary’s University. In addition to her work at Trinity University Press, she serves as the treasurer for the Friends of Hondondo Creek Trails board. She enjoys spending time with her husband and daughters, traveling, and being outdoors.

Lee Ann Sparks has twenty-five years financial management, accounting/bookkeeping, inventory management, budgeting experience in various industries including publishing, retail operations, real estate, and property management. She is a native of Texas.

SARAH MOSER | Marketing Coordinator
A native of San Antonio, Sarah Moser graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio. With more than ten years of marketing experience, she brings a diverse background in project management, retail, and publishing to her role. She thrives on collaborating with new authors and implementing creative marketing strategies to bring books to life. Outside of work she is a passionate interior decorator with a keen eye for vintage home decor. She loves exploring estate sales and vintage shops in search of unique treasures and books.

REIGN KINGSBERRY | Marketing and Sales Assistant
Reign Kingsberry has worked in book sales and publishing for nearly three years but has had a love for literature since she could read and write. She found her life’s mission while she was working at the Twig Book Shop, and she continues it in her role as the Press’s marketing and sales assistant. She also served as the first creative director of the nonprofit the Lemonade Circle. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of the Incarnate Word.

BURGIN STREETMAN | Editor-at-Large
Burgin Streetman started her career in books more than thirty years ago as the fiction manager at the old Doubleday Book Shop on Fifth Avenue in New York City. She later worked as the assistant to the vice president of children’s books at Barnes & Noble, published books for The Muppets, and was director of marketing and publicity for Artisan Books, an imprint of Workman Publishing. In San Antonio she worked with the advertising agency Guerra DeBerry Coody, has written for the San Antonio Express-News and the San Antonio Current, and maintains the popular book blog Vintage Kids’ Books My Kid Loves. She has been with Trinity University Press since 2012, most recently as the Assistant Director of the Press before taking on her current role as editor-at-large.

LEWIS FISHER | Maverick Imprint Editor-at-Large
Lewis Fisher is the author of numerous books about San Antonio and Texas, including Greetings from San Antonio: Historic Postcards of the Alamo City, American Venice: The Epic Story of San Antonio’s River, Saving San Antonio: The Preservation of a Heritage, Maverick: The American Name That Became a Legend, Chili Queens, Hay Wagons, and Fandangos, and The Spanish Plazas in Frontier San Antonio. He has received numerous local, state, and national writing awards and was named a Texas Preservation Hero by the San Antonio Conservation Society in 2014.
